1995 Infiniti G20

Opening Day

After driving a 2000 Nissan Altima for about 4 months, I was told if I could find a G20 for a good price, my dad would get it.. So CraigsList was my best friend for a little while. Eventually found my current G in Franklin, GA on a Saturday night. Talked to the guy, he was asking $700, and eventually talked him down to $500. What I didn't know, is that it didn't run, sort of.

We got there and dad checked out the car and the tranny was out, auto, ask the guy was trying to "fix" it by replacing it with other trannys or rigging up the one that was in it. So we asked the guy to carry it on his flatbed to the other side of Atlanta to Stone Mountain, paid $50 for that and $13 for a can of engine cleaner. So in total, paid $563.

Since I wanted a manual, I figured dad would fix the car with another auto tranny and I would drive it till I could find a manual car. Little did I know, he was brainstorming on converting it to a 5-spd. Of course, making the swap/conversion wouldn't be all that hard seeings how we had a 5-spd car that had all the parts. So, 4 days later it was running, on the 5th, my dad drove it home, Saturday, I was driving it.

Mid-Season

So, been driving the car about 5 months now and love it. Having AC problems with either the coolant leaking or the compressor is caput.

Recently just added a set of UR underdrive pulleys (crank, w/p, p/s). Have one for the alternator but for some odd reason it didn't line up correctly. But I will deal with that later.

Current project is modifying the EGR tubing to compensate for a NON-EGR header. This is from Japan so it is a JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) Impul Racing Development header and downpipe. With in the next few weeks my dad and I will be removing the engine and tearing it down to reseal everything and to make the modifications for the new muffler. Also on the project block is to change the interior from the base tan to the Touring Black. Also going to find a spolier. nothing big but nice, probably not stock unless i find nothing else. Then the last bit for now is find a LSD tranny. that would make it better too.

Turns out I'm really disliked by sister who decided to back out of the driveway, Tuesday, October 12, 2010 and ran smack in to my drivers side rear quarter panel. Now I have a huge dent, a busted tail light and lots of scratches. I am not the happiest person and apparently no one in my family cares. Here is the best part, I'll probably have to pay to fix it AND this is the SECOND time she has done it... yea, not such a nice person she is.
